Don Caldwell

Mr. Caldwell is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cross Atlantic Capital Partners (“XACP”), a venture capital firm based in Radnor, PA. XACP, one of the leading venture capital firms in the mid-Atlantic region, with over $500 million under management, invests primarily in early to mid-stage technology companies in the United States. The XACP portfolio currently includes a diverse array of companies focusing on Enterprise Software, SaaS, IT Services, Telecommunications, Financial Services, and other innovative technologies.

At XACP, Mr. Caldwell is a Director on the Boards of several of the firm’s portfolio companies, i.e., InsPro Tehnologies Corporation (OTC) (Chairman), Lightning Gaming, Inc. (OTC), Openet, Rootstock Software, Sagence Consulting, Inc. and Voxware, Inc., and has been a principal in numerous IPOs and acquisitions.

In addition to his XACP responsibilities, Mr. Caldwell serves as a Director on the Boards of Beltraith Capital, LLC, Haverford Trust Company, I-AM Capital Acquisition Company (NASDAQ) (Chairman), and Quaker Chemical Corporation (NYSE) (Lead Director).

Prior to founding Cross Atlantic in 1999, Mr. Caldwell was President and Chief Operating Officer of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., a publicly traded venture capital firm, where he served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of its Investment Committee. Prior to joining Safeguard in 1993, he held a number of executive and financial positions, including Chief Administrative Officer of a predecessor company of Cambridge Technology Partners, Inc. (Massachusetts); Executive Vice President and then President of Atlantic Financial; and a partner in the national office of Arthur Young & Co., a predecessor to Ernst & Young, LLP, where he received his CPA in the State of New York.

In 2017 Mr. Caldwell was appointed as a US representative to the South Australian Venture Capital Fund, a $50 million fund established by the Australian government to assist innovative South Australian ventures in securing funds and accelerating their growth into national and international markets.

Mr. Caldwell is currently Chairman Emeritus of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and a Trustee of The Andalusia Foundation. He previously served on the Boards of several local and national non-profit organizations, including the national Committee on Economic Development, the US Grace Commission and a term as Chairman of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.

Mr. Caldwell holds a BS from Babson College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
